(Also known as the &#8220;Clery Act.&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>This crime log represents a synopsis of reportable events. The hundreds of routine calls for service, general assistance and student conduct violations, which do not result in police reports, are omitted in this log.<\/p>\n<p>There are typically six areas covered in the blotter i.e. (Nature\/Classification, Date reported, time, General location, Brief description and disposition). Incidents are in chronological order. The most recent entry is at the bottom of the list.<\/p>\n<p>According to Federal Law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, i.e. the nature, date, time, location and\/or disposition, if any of the following conditions apply:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The disclosure is prohibited by law<\/li>\n<li>If the disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim.<\/li>\n<li>If the disclosure would jeopardize an on-going criminal investigation or safety of an individual.<\/li>\n<li>If the disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection.<\/li>\n<li>If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>Police Blotter Disposition Definitions<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>(effective date October 1, 2005)<\/p>\n<p>The following is an explanation of the terminology used to complete the disposition section of the log.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Open case \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The case is currently being investigated by MCCPD<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unfounded \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The case is determined through investigation to be false or baseless. Nooffense occurred nor was attempted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Referred to Department (RTD)\u00a0\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The case is referred to the appropriate supervisory employee or to the MCC Human Resource Service Department. These departments review the case and determine if disciplinary action will be initiated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Referred to Code of Student Conduct (CSC)\u00a0\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The case has been forwarded to the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Services, who is responsible for reviewing the case and for determining whether or not the student(s) involved will be charged with a violation(s) of the Student Code of Conduct.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closed \u2013 A \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The subject(s) has been arrested, served a complaint or issued a *trespass warning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closed \u2013 B \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The case has no solvability; no suspects or witnesses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closed \u2013 C \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Case closed; no further action needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closed \u2013 D \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Re-classified. The original incident report classification has been changed to accurately reflect the appropriate classification, based on the results of the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>* The suspect(s) has been issued a Trespass Notice, which restricts the subject(s) from entering or accessing any college property.
