If I major in Modern Languages, can I transfer to a four year college or university? Most or all of the credits earned at MCC toward an A.A. degree in Modern Languages will transfer to a four-year college or university depending on MCC’s particular transfer/articulation agreements with the institution in mind. You can continue your studies in foreign languages, or peruse other related fields such as linguistics or language acquisition. Learn more about our Modern Languages degree.
The ESL Program is for students interested in obtaining a degree and/or certificate at Middlesex County College. It offers an intensive program to help students develop their academic English skills in reading, speaking, writing, and grammar. Courses combine writing skills with grammar skills, and reading skills with speaking skills. In addition, students can find added support and help in our ESL Language Resource Center. Both ESL students and Modern Language students can take advantage of our language laboratory resources. The Modern language Lab is located in IRC 225. Students can practice their language skills with a variety of online programs. They can also watch foreign films, and receive tutoring. The ESL Language Resource Center is located in JLC 233. ESL students can receive tutoring help as well as use the available computers for classwork and language improvement.
