About the Degree<\/h1>\n
Students studying Genocide and the Holocaust<\/strong> explore the phenomenon of genocide, including the Nazi Holocaust, the genocides in Bosnia and Darfur, the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge regime, and the many colonial and indigenous genocides throughout history.<\/p>\n
Mass violence, torture, and violations of fundamental human rights are not a new aspect of humanity; this program examines its effects on victims, offenders and cultures, as well as the historical and contextual factors which enable humans to collectively and individually perpetrate it. \u00a0Students in the programs prepare for work developing policies, strategies, and programs designed to counteract these atrocities.<\/p>\n
