Police responded to the Barnes & Noble Bookstore for an activated fire alarm. The building was evacuated; there was smoke coming from a light fixture in the ceiling and an odor of burnt electrical material. Power was cut to the light and the Fire Department stayed on scene while maintenance worked on the fixture and reset the alarm. #I-2017-014348.

Police responded to the Physical Education Center on the report of an individual in the sauna before the building opened for the day. The individual stated that he was on campus to use the pool, but after realizing the pool area was closed, decided to use the sauna. Unable to produce MCC identification, he was escorted out of the building to his vehicle and advised that should he return to the facility, he may be issued a defiant trespass notice. I-2017-012770.

The Performing Arts Center was evacuated as a result of a fire alarm activation. A faulty light ballast produced smoke which set off the alarm. The fire department arrived on scene and after deeming the building safe, allowed the occupants back inside. Facilities Maintenance responded to repair the faulty light ballast. #I-2017-012557 – Closed C.

An individual reported to police that on 4/28/17, while her vehicle was parked in the IRC Parking Lot, someone had keyed the front passenger side. Surveillance cameras in the parking lot were not able to identify any individual in the area of the vehicle. #I-2017-012525 – Closed C.

Police responded to the Instructional Resource Center on the report of a fire alarm. Upon arrival, they found the alarm active and the bulding evacuated. There was no visible sign of smoke or fire. It was determined that someone had pulled the alarm located between the stairway and elevator. The Fire Department arrived on scene, the alarm was reset and the occupants were allowed back in the building. #I-2017-012200 – Closed C.

A female reported to police that on 5/1/2017 at approximately 4:15 pm, while listening to music in Cafeteria B, was approached by an individual known to police, who attempted to engage her in conversation. The complainant stated that she ignored him and he proceeded to yell and scream at her causing her to leave the area. This is an on-going investigation. #I-2017-011850.
