Democracy House is Middlesex County College’s award-winning\u00a0Center for Civic Engagement and Community Service on campus. Democracy House works exclusively with students interested in serving the local community by\u00a0\u00a0building strong relationships to MCC faculty and partnerships with local non-profits. The primary goal of Democracy House does\u00a0is to\u00a0address community needs\u00a0while integrating real life experiences into college-level learning.<\/p>\n
The Bonner Leader Program is a campus-based community service program, through which students can engage directly with local non-profit organizations in yearlong commitment. Each Bonner Leader serves a minimum of 10 hours a week, with the ultimate goal of completing 300 hours of community engagement by the end of the academic year. Bonner Leaders also participate in national student conferences and weekly leadership workshops.<\/p>\n Middlesex County College is the only community college in the national Bonner Leader Program network, which, through your participation, you gain access to. This can be very helpful in the transferring process, in networking for jobs, and in continuing community development. Also, if you are Federal Work Study eligible, Democracy House can be your placement! Other benefits of joining the program include building lifelong friendships with a group of likeminded and diverse peers at Middlesex County College; professional and personal development; and intensive leadership training.
