About the Degree<\/h3>\n
Associate in Arts (A.A.) Degree<\/strong>
\nStudents majoring in English receive a broad general-education background that prepares them for transfer to four-year colleges, where they can continue their studies in rhetoric, writing, and literature, or where they can begin other majors in and outside of the liberal arts.\u00a0 Students who take a BA in English find employment in education, publishing, business, and the arts. In addition, the BA in English is excellent preparation for law school and for graduate school in English or another related field. Finally, some students who earn an AA in English go on to study for a bachelor’s in business, thereby combining excellent communications skills with business acumen.<\/p>\n
