These grants are renewable based on continued eligibility. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/education-opportunity-fund\/incoming-students\/new-student-application\/\">Learn more and apply. <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Federal Pell Grant<\/strong><br \/>\nThe <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.ed.gov\/sa\/types\/grants-scholarships\/pell\" target=\"_blank\">Federal Pell Grant<\/a><\/strong> is available to students who have demonstrated the highest calculated need. It is estimated that this award will range between $626 and $5775 for full-time study for the 2015-2016 aid year. The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) calculated from the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fafsa.ed.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">FAFSA<\/a><\/strong> determines this award.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.ed.gov\/sa\/types\/grants-scholarships\/fseog\" target=\"_blank\">Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant<\/a><\/strong> is awarded to Federal Pell Grant recipients who have demonstrated the highest calculated need. The average award for full-time students is $1,000. Funds are limited and subject to availability.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TAG (Tuition Aid Grant)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe NJ Tuition aid Grant Program (TAG) is a generous need based state funded financial aid program. TAG awards may cover up to the cost of tuition and is offered to students with demonstrated financial aid. Eligibility for TAG is based on filing the FAFSA application and listing Middlesex County College as the first choice. Any additional information required by the state must be submitted via the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.njgrants.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.njgrants.org<\/a> website.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>WORK-STUDY<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #cf1010;\">The Federal Work-Study award provides employment opportunities in various campus offices. Work-Study awards are offered to students with financial need. Students are paid at an hourly rate and receive paychecks every two weeks for the hours worked. Work-Study will not be credited to the student\u2019s account. The average award for Federal Work-Study is $3,500 per academic year.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>LOANS<\/h3>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.direct.ed.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">William D. Ford Federal Direct Student Loan Program<\/a><\/strong> provides low-interest long-term loans to students for education expenses. The lender of these loans is the federal government and repayment is to the U.S. Department of Education. The Federal Direct Subsidized Student Loan is awarded to students with financial need. The Subsidized and unsubsidized loan has a fixed interest rate of 4.29% through June 30, 2016. The Subsidized loan does not accrue interest while the student is enrolled at least half-time. The award for a first year student is $5,500. Second year dependent students can receive $6,500. Independent undergraduate first year students may be eligible for $9,500 and second year students $10,500. Repayment begins six months after half-time enrollment ceases.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>SCHOLARSHIPS<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Middlesex County College Scholarship Opportunities<br \/>\n<\/strong>Since 1967 the Middlesex County College Foundation has distributed more than $12 million in scholarships, financial aid and grants to more than 15,000 deserving students.<strong> <\/strong>The<strong> <\/strong>MCC Foundation currently has more than 120 scholarships available to qualified students. You only need to complete one application to apply for all scholarships. Click here to view a list of all <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/scholarships\/scholarship-list\/\">MCC scholarship opportunities<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NJ STARS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship (NJ STARS) Program is an initiative created by the State of New Jersey that provides New Jersey\u2019s highest achieving students with free tuition at their home county college. The NJ STARS award covers the cost of tuition, less any State and\/or Federal grants and scholarships, for up to five semesters. The award covers these charges for up to 18 credit hours per semester. Students must graduate in the top 15% of their high school class in either their Junior or Senior Year and completed a rigorous series of high school coursework as determined by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Garden State Scholarship Program<\/strong><br \/>\nThe State\u2019s merit-based scholarship program recognizes academic excellence and encourages applicants to continue their education at New Jersey\u2019s Colleges and Universities. There are two types of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.experts123.com\/q\/what-is-the-garden-state-scholarship-program-distinguished-and-urban-scholars.html\" target=\"_blank\">scholarships<\/a> \u2013 Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholarship and Urban Scholars. Both offer annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.experts123.com\/q\/what-is-the-garden-state-scholarship-program-distinguished-and-urban-scholars.html\" target=\"_blank\">scholarship awards<\/a> up to $1,000. Students do not apply directly for scholarship consideration. By October 1 each year, participating high schools provide HESAA with the names and junior class standings for all potentially eligible students. Students are notified of eligibility during November\/December of their senior year in high school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Private Scholarships<\/strong><br \/>\nMany outside organizations award scholarships. If a student\u2019s family is affiliated with a community or religious organization, the organization may be contacted to see if it offers scholarships. Many companies will help employees or children of employees finance their education.
