MCC's\u00a0school code for the FAFSA is 002615.\u00a0Once your FAFSA is processed by the U.S. Department of Education, the results will be sent electronically to our\u00a0Financial Aid Office. Be sure to review your Student Aid Report (SAR) for accuracy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>We encourage students to<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong> file the FAFSA prior to March 1st<\/strong><\/span> so we have sufficient time to evaluate eligibility for federal, state and college financing programs. This is a secure user ID code that you use to \u2018sign\u2019 the FAFSA online. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fsaid.ed.gov\/npas\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to apply for your FSA User ID.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>If you are an<strong><em> independent student<\/em><\/strong>, you will need to provide parental information on the FAFSA. You will report your own information and your spouse's information if married.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>How can I tell if I am a dependent or independent student?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\nIf you are able to answer \u201cYes\u201d to any of the questions listed below, you can file as an independent student on the FAFSA:\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Were you born before January 1, 1992?<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Are you married? (Also answer \u201cYes\u201d if you are separated but not divorced.)<\/li>\r\n\t<li>At the beginning of the 2015\u201316 school year, will you be working on a master\u2019s or doctorate program (such as an M.A., M.B.A., M.D., J.D., Ph.D., Ed.D., graduate certificate, etc.)?<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Are you currently serving on active duty in the U.S. armed forces for purposes other than training?
