{"id":2655,"date":"2015-10-01T00:50:18","date_gmt":"2015-10-01T04:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/?page_id=2655"},"modified":"2015-10-27T16:32:47","modified_gmt":"2015-10-27T20:32:47","slug":"notables","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/october-2015\/notables\/","title":{"rendered":"Notables"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Spring 2015, Psychology Professors <strong>Christine Harrington<\/strong> and <strong>Crystal Quillen<\/strong> conducted a research study entitled \u201cSyllabus Length and Use of Images: An Empirical Investigation of Student Perceptions,\u201d which has been published in \u201cThe Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Psychology,\u201d an APA journal. A total of 149 Middlesex County College students participated in this study. The majority of students (66 percent) preferred a longer syllabus that included assignment details versus a shorter syllabus. Medium and longer syllabi were also more likely to lead to more positive impressions of the professor and the course.
