The award was presented by the Corporation for National and Community Service.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Vassiliadis Honored as Woman of the Year by Greek Cypriot Group\" href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/april-2010\/vassiliadis-honored-as-woman-of-the-year-by-greek-cypriot-group\/\">Vassiliadis Honored as Woman of the Year by Greek Cypriot Group<\/a><br \/>\nClairie Vassiliadis, assistant professor of mathematics at Middlesex County College, was named Woman of the Year by the Pancyprian Association, a group that promotes Greek Cypriot language and culture. Born and raised in Cyprus, Professor Vassiliadis immigrated to the United States in 1982 to further her education, earning a bachelor&#8217;s degree in computer science and a master&#8217;s degree in applied mathematics from NJIT, and a master&#8217;s in educational technology from Ramapo College.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"MCC Signs Biotech Transfer Agreement with St. Peter's\" href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/april-2010\/mcc-signs-biotech-transfer-agreement-with-st-peters\/\">MCC Signs Biotech Transfer Agreement with St. Peter&#8217;s<\/a><br \/>\nMiddlesex County College has signed an articulation agreement with St. Peter&#8217;s College in Jersey City that links the two schools&#8217; Biotechnology programs. Middlesex students who graduate with a grade point average of 2.75 or better in Biotechnology will be guaranteed admission into the St. Peter&#8217;s Bachelor of Science Biotechnology program.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Financial Aid System at College Transitions to Direct Lending\" href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/april-2010\/financial-aid-system-at-college-transitions-to-direct-lending\/\">Financial Aid System at College Transitions to Direct Lending<\/a><br \/>\nMiddlesex County College will be transitioning from the Federal Family Educational Loan Program (FFELP) to Federal Direct Lending (DL) beginning in the fall of 2010.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Middle States Brief\" href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/april-2010\/middle-states-brief-april-2010\/\">Middle States Brief<\/a><br \/>\nNow that we&#8217;ve come through spring break and (we hope) the last of the rain and snow storms, our thoughts naturally turn to Middle States and the Self-Study Process.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Free Oral Cancer Screening for Adults to be Held at College\" href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/april-2010\/free-oral-cancer-screening-for-adults-to-be-held-at-college\/\">Free Oral Cancer Screening for Adults to be Held at College<\/a><br \/>\nMiddlesex County College will host an oral cancer screening for adults on Tuesday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in L&#8217;Hommedieu Hall on the Edison campus. The event is free and open to the public; preregistration is not necessary.
