The award, presented each year since 1975, is named for Mr. L&#8217;Hommedieu&#8217;s father, Paige D. Johnson Foundation. Morano has been appointed special assistant to the president for labor relations and legal affairs at the College. He is responsible for guiding union\/management relationships, contract administration and related personnel, affirmative action and compliance issues.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Foundation Creates Mini-Campaign to Support Biotech Program\" href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/february-2010\/foundation-creates-mini-campaign-to-support-biotech-program\/\">Foundation Creates Mini-Campaign to Support Biotech Program<\/a><br \/>\nThe Middlesex County College Foundation recently hosted a breakfast meeting so that industry and four-year educational institutions can learn about the new biotechnology program at the College. The Foundation has developed a mini-fundraising campaign to support scholarships, the purchase of specialized lab equipment for the biotech laboratory and for outreach programs to interest high school students in the field.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Middle States Brief\" href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/february-2010\/middle-states-brief-february-2010\/\">Middle States Brief<\/a><br \/>\nAs many of you heard at the College&#8217;s Spring Convocation, MCC&#8217;s Middle States Self-Study project is moving along at a rapid pace with many activities taking place simultaneously. Our goal is to produce an accurate, well-written report that reflects MCC&#8217;s compliance with each of the 14 Middle States Characteristics of Excellence. Our last two submissions \u2013 the Self-Study in 2000 and the Periodic Review Report in 2006 \u2013 were very well received and our goal is to maintain that quality.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Middlesex County College Police Chief a Finalist for National Award\" href=\"http:\/\/mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com\/mcc-publications\/february-2010\/middlesex-county-college-police-chief-a-finalist-for-national-award\/\">Middlesex County College Police Chief a Finalist for National Award<\/a><br \/>\nRobert Smilek, chief of the Middlesex County College Police Department, is one of 10 finalists for Campus Safety Director of the Year.
