My name is Ashley Castiglia. I am a Middlesex County College Alum, Academic Advisor, and Part Time Instructor for the History and Social Sciences Department. I graduated MCC in January 2012 as a Liberal Arts General Major. I enrolled in Kean University in Spring 2012 where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a Minor in History in May 2013. As I completed my undergraduate degree requirements, I worked as staff at MCC, assisting first-year students transition to college. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for higher education, and working with college students.<\/p>\n

My name is Kaitlin Elliott and I am an Academic Advising Coordinator at Middlesex County College. I graduated from William Paterson University in May 2016 with my bachelor\u2019s degree in Psychology and a minor in History. I am currently pursuing my Master\u2019s degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education at Montclair State University. I love being able to assist new students in their transition to the college experience. Now in my professional career I continue to enjoy my time assisting new students navigate their way at MCC.<\/p>\n

Kevin Frischmann<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

I began my educational career path as a community college student. After completing my Bachelor\u2019s degree, I was manager of an imaging laboratory in the research divisions of the American Museum of Natural History. I often guided and trained scientists and students on optimal use of methods\/instruments\/software available to them in the lab. My work experience outside of college administration, as well as my varied academic background gives me a great frame of reference to advise students for both the near-term and long-term view of their own individual path and plan to success.<\/p>\n

My name is Sharon and I am an Academic Advising Coordinator. I attended Rutgers University – Newark Campus and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology. I am in the process of obtaining my Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. I love being an Academic Advisor because I get to work with students and hopefully make a positive\u00a0impact in their life and their college experience. It gives me the chance to help shape\/influence\u00a0their first year as a college student.<\/p>\n

My name is April Johnson and I currently serve as the Assistant Director of Academic Advising, \u00a0I also oversee the New Student Orientation program. I started my college career as a community college student and went on to obtain my Bachelors degree\u00a0in Communication Studies \u00a0from Montclair State University. I\u00a0completed my\u00a0Master of Arts in Higher\u00a0Education Administration from\u00a0New\u00a0York University, and I am currently working on my doctorate in Educational Leadership at Rowan University.\u00a0The best part of my job is helping students start their educational journey and connecting students with valuable resources and support.<\/p>\n

My name is Peter Schlittenhardt and I’m an Academic Advising Coordinator at Middlesex County College. I graduated with my associates degree from MCC in 2009 then moved on to earn my bachelors from Rutgers University Business School. I am currently earning my masters degree in higher education at Stony Brook University.\u00a0Transitioning to college is an experience and can be overwhelming at times. My job is to ease any obstacles you may encounter as an incoming new student.<\/p>\n

Tanya Washington<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

My name is Tanya Washington and I am an Academic Advising Coordinator at Middlesex County College. I am also an Adjunct Professor at both Middlesex and Union County College. I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Arts in History; and a Masters of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Seton Hall University. As an undergraduate student I knew I wanted to work with first -year students in Higher Education due to the support and assistance I received from my First-Year Academic Advisor. I wanted to provide that same level of service to students who were feeling a bit overwhelmed by a new academic experience. These students are entering college at a critical point in their lives and I enjoy helping them navigate the process that leads to academic success.<\/p>\n
