1. Review Terms and Conditions on MCC’s Scholarships website at https://mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com/scholarships/terms-conditions/
2. Complete the FAFSA before deadline (International students do not apply for FAFSA) The FAFSA must be filed online at fafsa.gov using Middlesex County College’s school code: 002615. The Federal Processor at the Department of Education will determine financial need by reviewing the income data submitted on your FAFSA. You must file FAFSA in order to be considered for scholarships. International students are exempted from filing FAFSA.
   • Go to MCC’s Scholarships Web Page (https://mccdemosite1.devsiteurl.com/scholarships/) at Middlesex County College. The College uses a highly effective scholarship software program called AwardSpring
   • The application is open twice per year – typically in April for fall scholarships and November for spring scholarships. Announcements will be made on the scholarships website, Campus Cruiser and the scholarships office Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Middlesex-County-College-Scholarships-Office-590257081058755/)
   • Students must apply each semester - information is not transferred between semesters.
   • Proceed to APPLY NOW icon to enter the scholarship application site.
   • Follow the clear and easy step by step directions
   • Completely finish the application.

You will be matched to applicable scholarships after you have completed the online application.

The AwardSpring application wizard will match you to scholarships for which you most likely are qualified. This is based on your answers provided on the application.

After the application deadline, MCC has more than 75 volunteers comprised of MCC professors, administrators, staff and donors who review applications specifically assigned to them. Using the same AwardSpring program, reviewers are able to review online the assigned applications and rank them. After the review period is finished, the scholarships office finalizes scholarship awards based on reviewer ranks, financial need and other verifications. Students will not be over awarded. Scholarships are awarded as MCC tuition credits. Scholarships awarded in fall are divided between fall and spring semesters. It is the goal of the scholarships office to notify students via email before the tuition deadline at MCC.

Yes – you must apply each semester through AwardSpring.

Yes, you are required to send a thank you letter. You may not receive a renewal award for spring if a thank you letter is not received.

Please email a carefully worded letter to MCC Scholarships Office, 2600 Woodbridge Avenue, West Hall, Room 221, Edison, NJ 08818.

If so noted, you are required to attend our annual scholarship reception in November. It’s a time to meet donors and personally thank them for your award(s). Unfortunately, due to limited space, not all students will be invited. We also cannot accommodate or allow guests of scholarship recipients. Formal invitations are usually mailed in early fall.

Although your application will be considered, preference is given to students who are not getting financial aid. If you receive a scholarship before you are notified that you qualify for financial aid, your scholarship may be adjusted.  We appreciate students who notify us when this happens.

You will receive the fall portion of your scholarship but the spring portion will be allotted to someone else in need.

Some scholarships do require or give preference to students who volunteer on a consistent basis and/or show leadership skills in community service.

Yes – please attach a letter of recommendation from your volunteer supervisor onto your AwardSpring application. We would like to know approximately how many hours you have volunteered.
