Jack Waintraub received the AAS degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from the Academy of Aeronautics (currently Vaughn College of Aeronautics), a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (currently New York University-Tandon School of Engineering), and a MS from Rutgers University. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in the state of NJ.
Through his career, he served as a technician and engineer in the field of Electronics Communications, as an engineering educator at a number of colleges, as well as a consultant to industry and educational institutions.
At MCC, Professor Waintraub served for many years as Chairperson of the Electrical Engineering Technology Department and teaches electrical/electronics, mathematics and physics courses. He is the coauthor of two textbooks and author of numerous papers and articles.
Professor Waintraub served as a Program Director at the Division of Undergraduate Education at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Executive Director of the NJ Center for Advanced Technological Education funded by NSF. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) and the recipient of the 2002 Fredrick J. Berger Award for Excellence in Engineering Technology Education. He has served ASEE in numerous offices of the Engineering Technology Council and Division, and the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET. He is also a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) society.
